Works with Nest

What do I need to integrate my Stack and Nest accounts?

You need at least one Nest Thermostat or Nest Protect to integrate your Stack site with Nest.

How do I integrate my Stack and Nest accounts?

To get started, tap the menu symbol (≡) > Integrations > Works with Nest > Integrate with Nest. Follow the directions on screen to integrate your products.

What features are available?

Home/Away Sync

With Home/Away Sync, your Stack site’s Home and Away settings will automatically sync with Nest. Please note that your Nest Home and Away settings will not sync back to Stack.

Room Temperature Variation

With Room Temperature Variation, you can tell Stack which rooms in your site run warmer or cooler than average. When Stack only detects occupancy in rooms that run warmer, Stack will lower your Nest Thermostat’s target temperature, and when Stack only detects occupancy in rooms that run cooler, it will raise the target temperature. If multiple rooms of varying preferred temperatures are occupied, Stack will not adjust your thermostat’s target temperature.

Nest Protect Alerts

With Nest Protect Alerts, Stack will flash your lights to let you know when a Nest Protect alert is triggered. When the alert is dismissed, your lights will return to their previous state.

Why am I receiving notifications about Nest?

Sometimes Stack will be unable to change your Nest Thermostat’s target temperature, whether it’s because your thermostat is set to Away, is currently offline, or for another reason. Whenever there’s an issue with your integration, Stack will deliver a notification to the Notifications section of your Stack app to let you know why it isn’t working properly.

How do I remove the integration?

You can remove the integration in the Stack app by tapping the menu symbol (≡) > Integrations > Works with Nest > Delete Nest Integration, or from the Works with Nest section of your Nest app.
